The game also suffered from "other language syndome" and felt like some of the script went through google translate too many times.

This was ab-so-****ing-lutely apparent with the HUUUGE "hello fellow kids" vibe of the writing as a whole. Life is Strange 1, OVERALL, was not written well. I figured I'd get that out of the way, since people will let their weird ass emotions take over (and sometimes this goes the other way too). They will then spout things like "this game has bad writing" and it's just asinine and a total joke.Įspecially when you read between the lines and trigger these people enough to the point that their real thoughts/opinions come out - and you find out they're just bigoted, idiotic fools. If a game kills off a ex-murderer-turned-murderer-again and is "beloved" by his fans, they will bemoan the entire game because this said "beloved" person was killed off. I still can't wrap my head around people and their thoughts and opinions on what is, and what isn't "good writing" (or bad writing). LIS 2 and Tell Me Why have better writing overall. It does improve in later episodes and the dialogue between Max and Chloe was great.

The writing in the first game (especially its first episode) was kinda weak, especially with some of the smaller role kids. Life is strange has 2 more episodes for 10 bucks less, which shouldn't be disregarded especially if you can't afford both. Personally I thought the writing in Tell me why was weaker compared to life is strange, but then again I couldn't really connect with the characters, which might just be a "me problem". It also really depends on what kind of person you are as that will decide which story you will identify with/connect to, so you might just need to play both to really figure it out for yourself.
